Yesterday is History, written by Kosoko Jackson, is a fast read that follows the emotional journey of Andre Cobb Andre Cobb is a cancer survivor. Due to cancer in his liver, he needed a transplant, and was lucky enough to get one. After his liver transplant, Andre was hoping he could return to his normal life, and for some time, it seemed he could. His body was accepting his new liver, and everything seemed to be ok, except for a dull pain. This pain is something Andre would have never expected. On his journey through the craziness his new liver brought, he falls in love, breaks his heart, and discovers himself. This book is about a liver transplant, but is also about what it's like to live in America as a black gay teen. While it is mostly a fun, funny book, there are many deeper, more meaningful parts. I found the story to be captivating and had a very unpredictable plot.
